Position Profile

The Area Account Representative proactively sells Imaging Supplies, Computer Supplies, Office Supplies and plug-and-play equipment to new and existing customers via the telephone. Collaborates with Outbound Sales Manager to achieve individual and team goals. Works in conjunction with equipment teams to address IKON sales opportunities. Responsible for revenue and profitability of mid-size customer segment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Grows revenue and profitability by developing new business and maintaining existing customer base.

* Handles a territory consisting of mid-sized accounts within a geographic area.

* Performs pre and post sales and support activities that impact revenue targets.

* Works to establish long-term relationships with customers through outbound calls, incoming calls. Makes customer visits on an occasional basis, when necessary to develop or secure significant opportunities.

* Prospects and develops new supply business by expanding customer contacts within existing accounts.

* Sells supplies to the existing customer account base by following a discipline of contacting assigned accounts on a daily basis.

* Represents IKON as a single source solutions provider to the customer and remains sensitive to possible opportunities for competitive placements of equipment and services.

* Practices account management to ensure that toner-inclusive customers have supplies on hand appropriate to their volume and/or application. Place inclusive orders as necessary.

* Serves as the customer's advocate in the organization - troubleshoots problems efficiently on a daily basis and involves the appropriate areas in resolving the issue.

* Is knowledgeable about and understands the current supply programs and provides written proposals to customers on an as needed basis or as assigned by manager.

* Follows up with all customers, internal and external, ensuring that their issues have been resolved completely.

* Works closely with Equipment Team to identify and develop joint opportunities.

* Achieves specific monthly revenue and gross profit sales targets.

* Works with manager to negotiate non-standard pricing for the customer when necessary to remain competitive.

* Achieves outbound telesales productivity targets.

* Develops new IKONsupplies.com customers and coordinate the proper set-up.

* Documents all outbound and incoming calls and assigns appropriate follow-up.

* Updates and maintains account history and daily activity records.

* Maintains current documentation of customers special pricing and reviews them regularly.

* Assists internal customers with supply information as needed.

* Performs occasional data-entry of supply orders.

* Checks voice mail and e-mail regularly.

* Coordinates supply orders and shipping details with CCP, wholesale vendors and courier service as applicable.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications(Education, Experience and Certifications)

* Requires a 2-year college degree or equivalent work experience.

* 4-year degree preferred.

* Requires a minimum of 1-3 years of selling experience.

* 1 - 3 years of sales experience preferred.
